How is it possible to imagine Roman holidays without famous Italian pizza? There are many places in the Eternal City with high-quality ingredients and unique recipes for pizza, but let’s consider the top pizzerias to visit:

La Gatta Mangiona

la gatta mangiona

La Gatta Mangiona (“The Hungry Cat”) is considered one of the best 70 pizza restaurants in the world! It is a classic pizzeria with a rich wine list and delicious desserts. It has a premium quality of ingredients and is definitely worth a visit! I recommend trying their Pizza Lasagna and Pizza con Mozzarella di Bufala. It opens daily from 7.30 pm until 11.15 pm.

  • Address: Via Federico Ozanam, 30-32
  • Website: www.lagattamangiona.com
  • Tel.: (+39) 06 534 6702

Pepitos

Pepitos pizza rome

Pepitos is a pizzeria located nearby Roma Trastevere railway station. You wanted to find a place where locals eat? Here it is! The quality of ingredients is high, while the atmosphere and service make you feel comfortable and at home. Their desserts are excellent, and among pizza choices, you should try Pizza Rockerduck.

  • Address: Via degli Stradivari, 17-19
  • Website: www.facebook.com/pepitos
  • Tel.: (+39) 06 589 7649

Bir&Food

bir n food trastevere

Bir&Food is a gem of the Trastevere district, where you can choose among 36 draft beers and try one of the tastiest pizzas in Rome. This place is popular among locals, especially during the summer. Their Margherita con Bufala is the best in the whole area!

  • Address: Via Benedetta, 23
  • Website: www.birandfud.it
  • Tel.: (+39) 06 5894016

Caramella

caramella trastevere pizza

Caramella is on my list of favorite pizzerias for a fantastic pizza taste and its service, ambiance, and diversity of wines and cocktails. The restaurant entertains its customers daily with fun musical evenings, enhanced with delicious pizza, typical Roman dishes, and, of course, refreshing and original cocktails. They source raw materials of the highest quality, seasoned only with fresh and genuine ingredients sourced locally. It is a recommended place.

  • Address: Vicolo de’ Cinque, 31 a
  • Website: www.caramellatrastevere.com
  • Tel.: (+39) 3357748252 – What’s App

Pizzeria Ai Marmi

pizzeria ai marmi

Pizzeria Ai Marmi is also one of Rome’s most famous pizza places. This restaurant offers Roman-style wood-fired pizza, and there are always many guests, no matter which day of the week. However, if you come by its opening time (6.30 pm), you will surely get a free table. Not only pizza but also amazing suppli al telefono (in my opinion, the best suppli in Rome) that you should try! This place is not fancy, and there you will meet primarily locals who know how authentic Italian pizza has to taste.

  • Address: Viale di Trastevere, 53
  • Tel.: (+39) 06 580 0919

That’s Amore

thats amore pizzeria

Amore offers one of the best pizzas you can find in Centro Storico of Rome. It is located nearby the Trevi fountain. You can enjoy Italian cuisine like a true Roman: shop in colorful markets, taste typical street foods, and make pasta or pizza using traditional recipes. This restaurant will be an excellent choice for couples since the atmosphere is romantic and their pizza is made in a heart shape.

  • Address: Via in Arcione, 115
  • Website: www.thats-amore.it
  • Tel.: (+39) 06 67 90 302

Seu Pizza Illuminati

seu pizza

Seu Pizza Illuminati is a modern restaurant with creative pizza recipes and delicious desserts. It is an excellent option for an important event or just for a date. However, please make a reservation in advance (follow the link to their website). It opens daily at 7 pm (closed on Tuesdays). This pizza place is easy to reach since it is located in the famous Trastevere district.

  • Address: Via Angelo Bargoni, 10 – 18
  • Website: www.seu-pizza-illuminati.business.site
  • Tel.: (+39) 06 588 3384

Dar Poeta

Dar Poeta best pizza in Rome

Dar Poeta is a legendary pizzeria located in the heart of the Trastevere district. This restaurant is famous for its variety of pizzas, homemade desserts (Italian dolci), and vino della casa (homemade wine). You should definitely try their Pizza Margherita, Quattro Formaggi and Pizza Diavola! As a nice bonus: it is open daily from midday until midnight without a break.

  • Address: Vicolo del Bologna, 45
  • Website: www.darpoeta.com
  • Tel.: (+39) 06 588 0516

Farina Kitchen

farina kitchen

Farina is an innovative brand with three locations in Rome: one in the Tiburtina area, one in the Libya-Eritrea area (Nomentana), and one in the Viale di Trastevere. In 2018, Farina also exported its specialties to Iberian soil: in May, the first restaurant was opened in Malaga (Spain). Innovation, sophisticated choice of raw materials, and a lot of love for work are the keywords at the base of a project enjoying considerable success. I recommend trying classic Pizza Margherita and Pizza Diavola in this restaurant.

  • Address: Via Ergisto Bezzi, 31
  • Website: www.pickyourkind.com/farina-kitchen
  • Tel.: (+39) 06 4291 8500

Cave Canem

Cave Canem

Cave Canem is a cozy place in the heart of Trastevere. This option is terrific if you want to try local Roman pizza in an authentic Roman atmosphere for a low price that locals pay, and tourists usually do not know where to find it. Also, I recommend you try their desserts! But the pizza is big, so make sure to leave someplace in your stomach for Italian Dolci.

  • Address: Piazza di S. Calisto, 11
  • Website: www.facebook.com/cave.canem
  • Tel.: (+39) 06 589 8217
